"Responsibilities & Activities • Overall responsibility for conducting and monitoring clinical studies including studies for regulatory approvals and marketing purposes • Manage Clinical Affairs department including budget responsibilities • Oversee and ensure all research activities, documentation and records are in compliance with GCP Guidelines (FDA), HIPAA, Helsinki, and other international research governing bodies • Management of clinical SOP's and assurance of training to them within the company and at clinical sites • Identify together with marketing key scientists and medical researchers that can add to the art and practice of patient care related to products • Develop and maintain liaison among outside physicians, preclinical and clinical investigators, CRO's and research institutions to initiate and expedite clinical studies • Work with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Technology Officer in the development of research strategy, tactics and research budget planning • Responsible for preparing regulatory submissions related to clinical studies performed • Responsible for Post Market clinical surveillance including maintaining international research binders • Review research protocols and proposals that are submitted from independent investigators • Participates in risk management activities related to product safety Requirements & Skills • B. Sc. or higher in life sciences • At least 5 years of clinical studies experience with medical devices and/or drugs required • Project management skills • Excellent oral and written English • Preferable formal education and/or training in FDA and EMEA regulation, CRA, GMP, GLP • Familiar with laws governing the conduct of clinical studies and with completing 510(k) Statements, PMAs, study protocols, investigational plans, patient case report forms and informed consents • Experience in managing regulatory approvals of medical products in the US and Europe.
